TYDEE ISLAND, Fla.
— You don’t need a license to get your tattoo, but you’ll want to know how to get one from your local tattoo parlor.
The Tybee Islands Resort is one of a handful of Florida resorts offering tattooing services for the first time.
Tattoo artists have been making waves in the tourism industry since the arrival of the Disney Princess in 2019, but the resort, which was built on an island, isn’t the first resort to offer tattooing.
The resort’s new tattoo shop, located on the island’s largest island, Tybee, opened last week and is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.
The tattoos, which cost $45, are all limited edition and come with a personalized message on the inside of the sleeve.
The owner of the tattoo parlour, Andrew Boudreau, says the tattoos are meant to evoke memories of childhood and are for people who have a lot of time to themselves.
The tattoo artist says they have been getting requests for the tattooing service for more than a year.
The first of their five tattoo parls in the country opened in 2017.
The Tybee Tattoo & Pals, which opened in 2019 in the resort’s resort area, was the only one in the United States to offer tattoos for sale.
In the last two years, Tybees staff has been expanding the number of tattoos and expanding the range of styles.
They are also working on a new tattoo design.
