Kansas attractions, some of the most popular in the state, have been stripped of their “welcome” signs.
attractions were stripped of signs for safety reasons after a viral video of a man slamming his door shut at a popular park and grabbing a female tourist by the head and neck was uploaded to the internet.
The video shows a man in the parking lot of the park holding a woman by the neck and dragging her into the road before he jumps in a vehicle and drives off, then drives off again and returns.
He then appears to grab the girl again.
Police in Missouri have issued a warrant for the man’s arrest on the video.
Police say the man was arrested in the city of Wichita after a man allegedly attempted to steal a car.
The suspect allegedly stole a 2014 Ford Explorer and a 2013 Nissan Titan.
The Kansas Department of Tourism says the signs, which were posted at several Kansas parks, were removed from public spaces and no longer exist.
The park that the man allegedly tried to steal from was the Kansas Country Club, located at 6201 South Washington Street.
It was closed for two days while the incident was investigated.
The videos of the assault surfaced on social media this week, prompting the Kansas Tourism Commission to review its policies.
The department says it is reviewing its policies and will work with state and local law enforcement to identify any other potential incidents.
