A popular Arkansas attraction is getting an overhaul after a string of fatalities at its three-day show.
The Arkansas Parks and Recreation Department announced Thursday that it will be closing its three day annual “Arkansas Funeral Show” at the State Fairgrounds on Sept. 27.
The state parks department said the event was held annually in August and September.
It’s the second year that the show has been closed.
Last year, there were 11 fatalities at the show.
The last time it was closed was in April 2017 when two people were killed and another five injured at the state parks fairgrounds.
The show was a fundraiser for Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Children’s Cancer Fund.
