The Chicago Tribune is reporting that several of Chicago’s most popular attractions will be closed on Saturday, with the Chicago Cubs game being canceled.
The closure of the parks and attractions include the Museum of Science and Industry, the McCormick Place Hotel, and the Chicago Museum of Art.
In addition, the Chicago Department of Transportation will close the city’s four bridges, including the John Hancock Bridge.
The Chicago Public Library will also be closed, with its website reporting that all patrons and staff will have to get permission from their individual libraries before entering.
In total, 11 of the city-owned parks will be inaccessible.
The closures come as a result of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S.
The city has been on high alert since it was first detected in late October, and it has reported more than 40 new cases of the virus in its first nine days of October.
The first two confirmed cases occurred in Chicago.
As a result, the city has shut down more than 1,300 parks and entertainment venues across the city.
